Usages:
For the enumeration of coliform in water.
 
Principle:
Peptone, lactose provide carbon and nitrogen sources; yeast extract provides vitamins; sodium chloride to maintain osmotic equilibrium.

Lactose 10g
Sodium chloride 5g
Ferric citrate 1g
Sodium citrate 1g
Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate 2g
Sodium desoxycholate 1g
Agar 15g
Neutral red 0.03g
Final pH 7.4 ± 0.2
 
How to use?
1. Suspend 45g in 1L of distilled water, stirring heated to boiling until completely dissolved, distribute into a flask. Do not autoclave, cool to 50? and pour into sterile Petri dishes.
2. Diluted and treated samples.
 
Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
