Cytotoxicity Assays: Investigating a ‘toxic environment’ to your cellsToxicity of exogenous physical, biological, or chemical agents can be investigated on an organ- or whole-body level during animal experiments. However, these experiments come with numerous ethical objections and lack the possibility to investigate human cells. Therefore, in vitro cytotoxicity experiments are performed, replacing the animal experiments and enabling research on human cells. The term “cytotoxicity” refers to toxicity to cells, thereby investigating whether the exogenous agents do not interfere with healthy cell functionality and do not cause apoptotic or necrotic cell death. This information is valuable for a number of research areas and experimental applications. This webinar will introduce the fundamental of cytotoxicity and the application of live-cell imaging system in cytotoxicity assay. It is designed for students and new lab technicians, as well as bench scientists interested in updating their techniques or knowledge in the field. Attend this webinar and you will learn:
